Canning Recipes in Ball Jars

Enjoy this sweet and savory treat on crackers with cream cheese. Makes about 3 (8oz.) half pints.

Ingredients

  • 5/8 cup Heinz® Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 2 1/4 cups finely chopped green bell pepper (about 2 large)
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped jalapeño pepper (about 2 small)
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons Ball® RealFruitâ„¢ Low or No-Sugar Needed Pectin
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 3 Ball® Half Pint (8 oz.) Jars with lids and bands

Directions

  1.  

    Combine Heinz® Apple Cider Vinegar, green bell peppers, and jalapeño peppers in large saucepan. Gradually stir in pectin. Bring mixture to a full rolling boil that cannot be stirred down over high heat, stirring constantly.
  2. Add sugar and honey. Return mixture to a full rolling boil. Boil hard 3 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Skim foam if necessary.
  3. Ladle hot jelly into jars. Cool to room temperature, about 30 minutes.
  4. Refrigerate jelly up to 3 weeks, freeze up to 1 year, or serve immediately.
Here's a tip: When cutting or seeding hot peppers, wear rubber gloves to prevent hands from being burned.
